Appointments
Whether you are seeking an assessment, ongoing psychiatric care or psychoanalytically informed psychotherapy, the following information will help you prepare for your first consultation.
Referrals
A valid referral from your General Practitioner, psychiatrist or another specialist is required to claim a Medicare rebate.
If you are unsure about the referral process, our reception staff will be happy to assist.
Your First Appointment
The initial consultation allows sufficient time to understand your concerns, review your history and discuss possible diagnoses and treatment options. Where appropriate, a personalised treatment plan will be developed during this appointment.
Follow-up Appointments
Follow-up appointments are tailored to your individual needs. Depending on your treatment plan, these may involve review of progress, medication management, psychotherapy or ongoing psychiatric care.
Length of Treatment
Treatment is individualised and depends on your needs and goals. Some people require only assessment and short-term follow-up, while others benefit from longer-term psychiatric care or psychotherapy. The recommended approach will be discussed with you and reviewed regularly throughout treatment.
Fees
Consultation fees vary depending on the type and duration of the appointment.
